I am so freaking mad.. We have been going back and fourth over Lil' Mans medication with the Dr, and our agency.  I know deep down its the medication that is causing him to be so agitated. But what do I know? I don't have some fancy initials behind my name.  I just take care of him day in and day out.  I'm just his "foster Mother".

  1. It's ridiculous you don't have a say in it!!!! You're the one seeing how it affects him all the time!

  2. I am surprised that the doctor isn't listening to you more! At his age, your account should be the most important one! Grrrr. I'm not a fan of psychiatrists...

  3. Switch Docs!!! Find one one that understands that YOU are the expert in Lil' Man's life!!! Just change. Then call the DCS worker and tell her you need his medical insurance card needs to be changed. I DID THIS!! My worker hated me but I didn't care. This is what we signed up for - to advocate for these little, lost souls when no one else does. YOU KNOW BEST!!! YOU ARE HIS MOTHER!!! Change Doc's... what are they going to do... come and take him from you?? Haaaaaaaaaaa. I don't think so. They don't want him. They know the hell they would have on their hands. Set your boundaries. You don't work for them. They are working for YOU! If you don't know where to start, call his PCP. Schedule an apt. and explain your concerns. Ask for a referal to another psych. Hang in there. You are awesome for Lil' Man!!

  4. This is our second psych, and there are no others in our area that see children under 5yrs. As it is we drive an hour each way to see this guy. I am calling again tomrorow, to demand that he take him off. If he doesnt I am going to threaten my agency with "if I cant stop the medication he needs to be removed." I know they wont remove him. I cant take much more of his up's and down's Thanks for the support ladies!

  5. Focalin is a stimulant that is used to treat ADHD. Some people especially those with mood disorders do not do well on stimulants.
