cut back

I hate IEP meetings.  We had Lil' Man's annual IEP  review yesterday. They tried to cut a lot of his services. His case worker was fine with the lack of services.  I was so mad at her. Needless to say we didnt agree on much so I refused to sign on the dotted line.  We will meet again mid July to  see if we can come to an agreement.

Have I said I hate IEP meetings?

  1. There is a special level of hell for the people who created ARDS and IEP meetings. We dread my daughter's every year and I always end up coming across as a raving loony who won't accept the bare minimum. She's blind and profoundly MR and we adopted her when she was 19. She's 21 now and FINALLY got approved for visually impaired services. Seriously? No one thought that was a good idea until I threw a fit? I feel your pain. :-)

  5. She doesnt even come to all the IEP meetings. I assume bc we are with a private agency we are allowed to sign b/c we have a paper stating we have the right to treat/consent for medicall and school purposes. I've signed all papers regarding his IEP, ST, OT etc so far.

  6. Huh?? What in the hell?? What did they try to cut? Speech? Ot? Pt? Was the behavior specialist there? lil man needs ALL the services they can offer at this point. He is still little and will benifit from all of them. This infuriates me. Wait a minute... You should call another IEP asap. Don't wait until July. If you want you can tell them you have an advocate and you can conference me in. I know the laws and the questions to ask. This is NOT right!

  7. They wanted to reduce the amount of time he has his aid. What is written on his current IEP does not expire unti 5/2011 so they are up shits creek!
