Again?

Things have been crazy busy around here. I haven't been home before 10pm since last Thursday. Willie B has a staph infection, we will find out tomorrow if it is MRSA. The first antibiotic was NOT working, so I took him back to the doctor's yesterday. They lanced all four bumps, drained out the puss, and started him on a new antibiotic. His wounds look 100 times better today, than they did yesterday which is a good sign.

I am just puzzled as to where this nasty infection came from. Sure Wayne had it five times last year, but he isnt in close contact with Willie-B. I have been tested and I do not carry the MRSA virus. I just hope it doesn't rear its ugly head five times over like it did with Wayne.

Another MRSA update

We spent 2 1/2 hours at the doctors today.  She redrained the boil on Wayne's stomach, and cut open the two on his arm pit.. She then packed the one on his stomach to keep it from closing.

I think she was a little annoyed with me, since I questioned everything she was doing.  At this point she isn't overly concerned with the infection coming back,, but did state if he gets a new boil, that she will change our course of action.

We picked up some hibiclens soap, which is a antimicrobial skin cleanser.

My husband is a mess, he has a hole in his tummy, to large holes under his armpit, and keep in mind he's on crunches from his knee surgery..

spreading

Today I spent over three hours bleaching anything, and everything in my house including my husband.  His MRSA is getting worse instead of better, the antibiotics don't seem to be working this time around.

From what I have read about MRSA, once you get it its hard to get rid of it.  I have read horror stories of people battling this infection for years.

We have taken matters into our own hands.  We will wash towels, and bed linen's daily in hot water with borax. Wayne will take a  bleach bath every other day for twenty minutes.

He will also start taking a Colloidal silver supplement. which is supposed to cure MRSA.

He has a follow up appointment tomorrow morning, and I have plenty of questions for the doctor.

Keep your fingers crossed, because MRSA is taking a toll on us both emotionally and finically.

MRSA

Well it turns out Wayne has MRSA AGAIN in three different locations.  The one on his stomach is about the size of a dollar bill, he has two other small lumps under his armpit.

The Dr cut him open and removed the infection.  He will start oral antibiotics, as well as a nasal spray, and a topical antibiotic cream. He will also be taking bleach baths, and changing the type of soap he bathes in.

Please say a little prayer for my poor hubby, he had a rough few months.

Contagious

Today I woke up with swollen glands, sore ears, sore head, and a few other ailments.  I went to the Dr, and was told I also have Strep on top of my sinus infection.  I am also wheezing slightly.

Around noon, I ended my work day with plans to come home and sleep.  When I got home Wayne's wrist was bleeding thru his band aid as well as gauze.  I unwrapped it (with gloves on), and new right away that it has spread and was majorly infected.

I called the Dr's and was able to get him seen at 1:30pm.  His wound has went from the size of a pen, to the size of a silver dollar.  Most of his skin  was dead.

She recut the wound so that it could drain correctly. Which led to Wayne bleeding all over the office, because he is on blood thinners since they discovered the clot in his leg.

He was started on another antibiotic, and will be rechecked tomorrow.

and to top it all off we are supposed to be getting hit by tropical store Fay, within the next 24-36 hours..

When it rains it pours..

bloody hell..

Wayne has had some sort of "bite" on his wrist, that appeared last Friday.  It wasn't getting any better so I told him to have it checked out by the doctor.  They sliced it open, and sent the puss away for testing as they think he may have MRSA which is a serious staph infection.

We will have the test results on Friday, in the mean time he is being treated with antibiotics just in case. So now my poor hubby has a gimp leg, and a messed up arm..

To top it all off I have a killer sinus infection.
